PRESA · 1. (gen) grip. (appiglio) hold.

My work has come to me in a time of global uncertainty where the concept of future is unknown. A time in the world where we are inundated with information, scare tactics, and the hint of a collective fear.

As a queer woman navigating my way through this current state, I knew I needed to find an outlet to conjure tranquility for myself and the people I encounter in my days.

Through 2 decades working in the hospitality industry I must have delivered thousands of plates of food to guests.

Some just felt better moving through a room.

When my wife and I launched our hospitality program, Flock Dining in 2022, we had the privilege and luxury of curating a large set of handmade plate ware made by artists from all over.

It was at the dissolve of Flock that I found myself at a crossroad: what now?

I contemplated ways to stay true to my deep love of nature while allowing myself the space to create and honor my current form of self.

Through this journey of discovery I felt connected to the unhurried pace of pottery.

The teacher of trust, patience, and the detachment to outcome.

Utilizing the natural mediums of the world: wood, clay, sand, + stone, I fell into a place of repose through functional mixed media.

It’s a gift to use our hands amidst the slowness of creation.

An ancient love language.

The ouroboros of life + art.

From me to you.
